Stacking the Shelves [5]

Go over to Tynga's Reviews and join in on the fun!
Welcome to my Stacking the Shelves post 5! I love the library. I go every week! I got SO many great books this week. I'm super excited. AHH!
**If you click the titles, it will redirect you to it's Goodreads page!**

What I Got From the Library!
E-Books I Got:
Sorry guys, no video this week :(. I've had overload in homework and have been out all day today. But I will definitely be making one for next week! You can see what my thoughts are on the books I got this week below!

I've already finished The Thing About the Truth. I believe I finished it Friday. Truthfully, I like Sometimes It Happens more than this one. I ended up giving this one 3/5 stars.

I just started My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick today. And it is SO good. I'm really liking this one.

I saw Defiance at the library and it's been on my to-read list on Goodreads, so I decided to pick it up to see what it's about.

I've heard a lot of things about how much people were anticipating Alice In Zombieland and when I saw it at the library, I thought I'd give it a try.

I've also heard a lot of excitement for Ten. So I also got that.

I believe Collide is still free on Smashwords. So if you want to check that out, you can. I got this because I LOVE Shelly Crane's Significance Series.

Keep a look out for Stacking the Shelves #6 next week. It WILL have a video :)

Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire

Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire

Synopsis:
The new Abby Abernathy is a good girl. She doesn't drink or swear, and she has the appropriate percentage of cardigans in her wardrobe. Abby believes she has enough distance between her and the darkness of her past, but when she arrives at college with her best friend, her path to a new beginning is quickly challenged by Eastern University's Walking One-Night Stand.

Travis Maddox, lean, cut, and covered in tattoos, is exactly what Abby needs–and wants–to avoid. He spends his nights winning money in a floating fight ring, and his days as the ultimate college campus charmer. Intrigued by Abby's resistance to his appeal, Travis tricks her into his daily life with a simple bet. If he loses, he must remain abstinent for a month. If Abby loses, she must live in Travis's apartment for the same amount of time. either way, Travis has no idea he has met his match.

My Review:
♫♫♫♫♫-Presto!
Holy hot damn! That was one heck of a ride. 4.5 stars out of 5 rounded up to 5/5.

I was looking through reviews and saw many controversial issues with this book. A lot of people were claiming there was abuse, unrealistic scenarios, and abusive relationships. I really didn't see this. I saw it more as over-protectiveness, not abusive relationship. Travis never really abuses Abby in anyways. Sure, they had many ups and downs, but she wasn't crucially hurt in any way. Although, this book did have a lot of fighting and cursing.

My constant thought throughout this book was, when are they going to finally figure it out. They NEED each other. It frustrated me to no end all the problems they had. Abby constantly kept her distance from Travis because she didn't want to end up like her dad. Travis wouldn't admit his love for Abby. When they finally got together somewhere in the middle of the book, I was relieved. And then they got into a fight, and they had problems again. I wasn't fully happy with them until the last 4 or 5 chapters.

Even with all the above problems, I enjoyed this books very much! What Travis and Abby faced was the making of the book. I found it to be well written, and the characters are easy to love.

The only issue I had with this book was the excessive amount of smoking. Every chapter, someone was smoking. Either Finch, or Travis, or someone else. SOMEONE was always smoking. I'm not a huge fan of smokers, and I thought it was a little excessive to be putting it in the book so much.

Overall, I LOVED this book, and I'd highly recommend it. I originally borrowed this book from the library after reading reviews mentioned above. But now that I've read it, I will definitely be buying it. It's a keeper.

Stacking the Shelves [4]

Go over to Tynga's Reviews and join in on the fun!
Stacking the Shelves post number 4! Let's get to it! This week, I borrowed MORE books from the library. And yes, I know, I've been slacking with my reviews. But, I am writing one for Beautiful Disaster, Origin, and The Shadow Society, so don't fret :).

What I Got From the Library This Week:
This is probably my third time checking out Crossed from the library. I've tried to get through, but I always ended up skimming it, and now I actually want to read it since Reached is coming out soon. I like to blame it on the fact that I'm Team Xander!
I got The Shadow Society just yesterday, and I've already finished reading it. It was a super good book, and a review will be coming.
You can hear about the others in this video! Check it out!

Stacking the Shelves [2]

Go over to Tynga's Reviews and join in on the fun!
Hey all! Welcome to my second Stacking the Shelves post! I didn't get as much this week, but I did pick up some books from the library that I've been waiting to read for a while. So, check out below what I got this week!
*By clicking the title, it will link you to its Goodreads page!*
Picked up From the Library:
I am extremely excited to read Outpost because I LOVED Enclave. I've been waiting for Outpost to come out since the day I finished Enclave. I've also heard really great things about Throne of Glass and The Lost Girl. I thought I'd pick them up from the library, based on the good reviews I've read about them! The Hunt by Andrew Fukuda had a really interesting summary, and I've had it on my To-Read list for a while now. I am super excited to read all these books!

Sorry Guys! I can't post a video this week. I had last minute guests come to my house, actually they're here right now. I will definitely try my hardest to make a video next week! Stay tuned.
